Emigrants

robson600, manager of emigranci (58261) has knocked out two English Premiership teams in the last fortnight, and as the lowest ranked manager left in the Cup has taken some time out to answer a few press questions ahead of his R7 match this week against England NT manager PGHG1's "Hacked Off".

Dovco_HandF (57505) has kindly helped with the English to Polish and back to English translation this week.

You became the lowest ranked manager left in the Cup two weeks ago, after beating Premiership leaders Paignton Dynamos (608660499) scoring the winner in extra time. Last week you then defeated the Champions of England, Super Frankie's XI (608766260). Please tell us a little about your thoughts leading into both matches and how it felt for you to beat two of the current best teams in England. You must be delighted?

Of course, I'm delighted, who wouldn't be after managing to eliminate the current leader of the Premier League and the current English champion from the Cup? In both cases, my opponents did not appear to fully appreciate the ratings my team could produce. In both games, luck was on my side, and either match could have been lost without this, and then there would have been no interview for me.

Neither of these opponents played their strongest lineups I think, because Dynamos had to focus upon their Premier League matches, and Frankies upon their hattrick Masters games. Perhaps neither truly believed that they could be beaten by a team based in league V? Now they will both probably be having to deal with resulting problems because they will no longer be able to raise the morale (team spirit) of the team by PICing in the Cup. Also, they will be missing out the extra income from the crowd coming to see them on Tuesdays.

I have at last been rewarded with some results for all my multi-seasons of training. I have a young team with plenty of potential and looking ahead from this season I am expecting to promote, and maybe soon one day I will be able play alongside these teams in the same league.

You have reached R7 just once before, in season 52, having started managing emigranci in Feb 2010 (season 41). In s57 you won the title in IV.5 but lost the playoff for promotion to III. This season you are locked in battle with SAFC Blackcats for the title in V.202. Do you think you can beat them and progress to the higher divisions with your current team, and how do you intend to improve the team over the next 2-3 seasons?

Yes, I reached the 7th round in the 52nd season, but I do not really remember those players anymore, but I think that I probably did not defeat such strong opponents on the way, because nobody wanted to do an interview with me before!

This season I'm fighting with SAFC Blackcats for the title, but if the match engine does not mess with me, then no one should be able to stop me from winning the championship and promotion. It seems to me that with having such a young squad who are still improving, that they should be able to achieve more and more success in the league and cups. I will use some funds to strengthen the club, because for now I still have quite a minimal squad, although there is still some cash available for possible reinforcement if necessary. Strange things can happen sometimes, but maybe we will be a top team soon?

How did you discover Hattrick, and what has it been about the game that keeps you interested?

My journey with Hattrick started a long time ago, I do not even remember when and quite how it happened. My first experience was when I started a team in the Polish league. Unfortunately, I was kicked out because when I promoted to the higher leagues, I ran into trouble for making transfers with my friends, although they were not overpriced at all. Not long after this I decided to emigrate to England, and applied for a team in the English leagues. I'd founded my new club while I was visiting my brother in England and then as it turned out, six months later, my entire family and I also emigrated to England. As you can see my team name translates as 'Emigrants'. Once I was addicted to hattrick, I spent an awful lot of time logged into the game. I've been a bit calmer about it for a long time and I'm no longer getting upset about lost matches, you know, the ones that you feel that you just shouldn't have lost, and I now treat the game much more as a time to just kick back, relax and enjoy.

Your manager page tells us that you are a KS Górnik Zabrze supporter. Please tell us a little about your club and how you came to support it. Some old timers may remember them for having met Manchester City in the 1970 European Cup Final?

Yes, I am a fan of Gornik Zabrze since childhood, although I was not alive in the years when they had their greatest triumphs. I believe that I will live long enough to see their rise to success again. We have a new stadium, many fans and plenty of faith. The only thing required I think is for a serious investor to become involved, and then I'm sure we would regain the Polish Championship. GORNIK ZABRZE is a 14 time champion of Poland, 6 time Polish Cup winner, Cup Winners' Cup finalist and quarter-finalist of the Champion Cup and Intertoto Cup. Not that I remember, but from what I know (I was not yet born) about the 1970 history, Gornik Zabrze lost in the Cup Winners' Cup final to Man City 2:1. I also recall that in the semi-final, in order to qualify for the final, against AS Roma, 3 matches were required, and at the end of the third game, a coin toss decided which team would get to play in the grand final.

Who for you is the greatest Polish footballer that ever lived, and what would would his hattrick skills have been at his peak?

In the history of the Polish football we had a lot of great footballers who made international appearances, but I think that Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (http://www.tsmplug.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Robert-Lewandowski.jpg) at his the current point in his career, is proving that he is the number one player in the history of Polish football. I think in hattrick he would be at a very high level in scoring, playmaking, set pieces and passing. Levels? Between magical and divine, I think. That's the kind of player I lack in my team.

Please could you tell us a good place to visit in Poland, the best bar, and place to eat?

Poland is a beautiful country and there are many places to visit, many beautiful cities, that fans from all over Europe could see during Euro 2012, including fans from the British Isles. I will not bore you here, and instead I suggest that you search on the Internet or search for a tour guide among your Polish friends.

Have you a favourite building or architectural design?

As I am a football fan one of my favourite architectural projects is the National Stadium in Warsaw. (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/20/National_Stadium_in_Warsaw_by_night_%282%29.jpg)

Are you single or married, how did you meet your partner (or last conquest) and what do they think about your interest in this game?

I have been married for eight years. I have two children, both boys aged 7 and 3 years old. Recently, my older lad, after watching me closely, asked his daddy what I was doing on the computer. After I'd explained, he then asked me if he could help me set up my team and show him how to play hattrick. I've given my son some love for football and he is now interested in everything that is related to it. I am happy with myself about this, and especially as my son has been going to football training and has been seen by scouts from Leeds United and Manchester City, and has been invited to train in their academies. Like any proud dad, I have a dream that one day I will get to watch him from the stands in a stadium.

My wife has an indifferent approach to hattrick. Sometimes, when I'm working on my computer she might ask me if I have a match, but that's about all. I met her at a student bar and as it later turned out from our conversations, we'd both lived in the same district of the city, just two streets away from each other and we'd attended the same primary school.

You have a player on your team with your own name (or at least the name on your manager page). Please tell us a little bit about this?

Yes, I do have a player in my team with a name exactly like mine (392991137). Unfortunately, when I bought him, he was 19 years old and was not a very promising prospective player, although he has managed to train a few skills to a decent level. He even recently played in the league for me and scored 2 goals! He also once played in a team with another player who had the same name as my brother, but unfortunately he was too expensive for me and was sold to another club.

Thanks for the interview and for your interest, HPE-Bink286.
Thanks for the help with translating for Dovco_HandF.
