20299 spectators had found their way to Volksparkaquarium, despite the heavy rain. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zyad Taleb and . Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Niedersachsen derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Fischmund. The following players took the field: Klumpp - Alviggi, Swatosch, Tünnef - Ćalić, Radoljubac, Mustin, Jarić, Wischhusen - Guilla, Caviezel.

Beinbruch tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination. Starters: Braz - Holy, Staudinger, Knaust, Hämmerich - Pantea, Diestelhaus, Schack - Dorfelden, Bordelius, Schadl.

Beinbruch clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their world class level with that tactic. Igor Caviezel caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 5 minutes. This gave Fischmund the 1 - 0 lead. After 6 minutes, Anselmo Radoljubac sent the corner kick right to Sergio Alviggi who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 0! With 17 minutes played, Rubén Guilla could have brought this one home for Fischmund as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After 18 minutes, the defensive line of Beinbruch created a counterattack through the middle that gave Riko Staudinger a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Fischmund's Aleksa Jarić increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 27 minutes. It might be a while before the fans see Beinbruch's Janus Diestelhaus again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 28 minute mark. He was replaced by Bernhard Joachim Bayer. With 30 minutes played, Fischmund's Igor Caviezel almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Erhart Wischhusen didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Igor Caviezel unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Fischmund enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.

Fischmund's Christian Mustin left the field after 52 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Jordano Morgado. Beinbruch's Pascal Schack was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Tim Dorfelden managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 3 - 1 after 53 minutes. Erhart Wischhusen could have put Fischmund up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 66 minutes. A counterattack by Beinbruch after 67 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Pascal Schack, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. The coach of Fischmund was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes, Maroš Grajcár came on for Rubén Guilla. Coming in from the right, Beinbruch had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 78 minutes, but Waldemar Hämmerich's attempt to finish was easily stopped. Fischmund solidified their lead at the 86 minute mark, as Maroš Grajcár dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Manolo Knaust from Beinbruch a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 87 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Fischmund had most of the ball, with 81 percent of possession.

Andreja Ćalić performed admirably for Fischmund. Volker Klumpp on the other hand, had a terrible day. Beinbruch's top performer was clearly Fridolin Schadl. Manolo Knaust was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
